Our former captain Cesc Fabregas was never likely to get a good reception on his return to the Emirates, but the Chelsea star made things far worse when he took a horrendous dive in the box.
The Spaniard picked up a ball from Cesar Azpilicueta, and worked his way into the box. Santi Cazorla stuck a leg out, and the former Barcelona midfielder threw himself to the ground.
Hearts were in mouths as referee Michael Oliver blew his whistle, but there was a collective sigh of relief from the Arsenal crowd when he pointed down the field.
Fabregas received a yellow card for his troubles, much to the elation of our fans.
Replays showed that there was the slightest of contact between the two countrymen, but it was a clear and blatant dive from the former Arsenal man.

Fabregas was already being booed before the incident, with the fans making their feelings on him clear. He is likely to see the hatred towards him intensified after his playacting, so hopefully his game is thrown off a little.
