Didier Drogba believes Chelsea are out of the title race already, and have fallen too far behind the pack to make up the ground. He therefore tipped Arsenal to win the title, highlighting summer signing Petr Cech as one of the major factors in our potential title charge (via Sky Sports).
The Ivory Coast international believes Manchester City will be contenders once again, but backed his friend and former teammate Cech to guide Arsenal to the title.
“I think Manchester City will be as strong as they have been in the last few years,”
“Unfortunately Chelsea are too far [behind in the title race], so I will go for my friend Petr Cech at Arsenal.”

It’s nice to have the backing of our former nemesis, and although we may have hated him as a player, it’s hard to deny his quality. He’s currently with Monreal Impact in MLS and has an excellent record. He’s got 11 goals in 11 appearances, proving that he’s still got plenty to give.
It’s hard to argue with his reasoning either, and currently languishing in 15th place it doesn’t seem likely that Chelsea will be mounting any type of title challenge this season. They’ve looked more like relegation candidates so far, and while that is unlikely to continue, they are still way, way down the table.
Our loss against West Bromwich Albion on the weekend was a bit of a blow to our title chances, but we’ve shown this season that we are a force to be reckoned with.

We’re still just two points off the top with an excellent run of fixtures coming up, and hopefully Drogba is right and Cech proves the difference maker in our title push this campaign. His performances so far certainly suggest he’s capable of earning us points all on his own, so fingers crossed that continues.
