Former Arsenal man Aleksandr Hleb proved to be a Gunners hero after blanking former teammate Cesc Fabregas in the tunnel ahead of Spain’s European Championship qualifier against Belarus, the Metro reports.

Hleb was familiar with many players in Spain’s starting XI due to his time at Barcelona and after sharing warm greetings with the likes of Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquets, Cesc Fabregas didn’t receive the same love from his former midfield partner.
Hleb and Fabregas were inseparable during their time in north London and the Belarussian’s antics in the tunnel may have been linked to a private joke between the two.
Nevertheless, we certainly enjoyed the look on Fabregas’s face after being embarrassed in front of millions of viewers around the world.

Hleb invariably sparked a depressing period in our history whereby our best players departed the club, forcing us to almost completely rebuild our squad over the past three seasons.
To further compound that notion, only Theo Walcott, Tomas Rosicky and Mathieu Flamini from our current squad shared a dressing room with Hleb during his time at the club.
Hleb and Fabregas will forever be remembered as two gifted players who failed to deliver trophies, something the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have since altered.
