Olivier Giroud has been on fire against Liverpool this Wednesday night, and grabbed his second goal of the game to give us the lead for the first time in the game.
The Frenchman has been holding the ball up well all night, bringing players into the game, and causing Liverpool problems all evening. Adding two goals to that as well, and it’s hard to argue he’s playing close to the perfect target man game.
His first was a vital touch from a corner, flicking the ball between the legs of Simon Mignolet. The second though, was a thing of beauty, and the keeper could do absolutely nothing about it.
Great work from Hector Bellerin down the right hand side put Liverpool in trouble, with the Spaniard laying the ball off to Joel Campbell. The Costa Rican picked out Giroud in the box, who spun away from the defence with a beautiful Cruyff turn, before firing a venomous shot into the back of the net.
With Liverpool starting strong with a fast paced and high pressing game, we initially struggled. We grew into the game as they tired slightly though, and we’re slowly beginning to dominate as the game goes on.

It’s ours to lose now, and we really look like the team more likely to score again in the second half.
