Olivier Giroud limped off at half time in our so far goalless game against Swansea, and Arsenal fans’ hearts are likely to be in their mouths.
We already have a huge number of injuries, with the likes of Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Aaron Ramsey, Danny Welbeck, and Jack Wilshere all confined to the doctor’s office (via Arsenal.com). We can’t afford another injury to our forward line, and if Giroud were to be out for any length of time we’d have nobody to play up front.
Arsene Wenger has been rotating Walcott and Giroud so far this season, and it’s been working excellently. Time on the bench seems to have motivated the Frenchman, while Walcott has shown he’s more than capable of leading the line for Arsenal.
Here’s the moment that had Arsenal fans truly concerned:
Thankfully Giroud came back onto the pitch after his injury, but we’ll have to see if he’s fully fit and able to play on in the second 45.
