Alexis Sanchez has given Arsenal a 1-0 lead against Reading in our FA Cup semi-final clash, but it was all about the pass from Mesut Özil to set up the goal.
After a quick start, we started to struggle in the first half. Reading were closing down quickly, and were applying pressure all over the pitch.
We were failing to create much, and the pace of our game really wasn’t good enough. The Championship opposition were causing us real problems, and it was starting to become a worry.
Özil was given a bit of space just before half time however, and that was all he needed.

The German playmaker showed just why we paid so much for him, and put a peach of a pass over the top for Alexis Sanchez. He picked out the Chilean with pin-point accuracy, and the former Barcelona man plucked it out of the air beautifully – bringing it down in the box.
Reading were quick to close him down, but he showed quick feet to retain it. He smuggled a shot out through the crowd of bodies, and through the keepers legs to make it 1-0.
