The German playmaker showed just why we paid so much for him, and put a peach of a pass over the top for Alexis Sanchez. He picked out the Chilean with pin-point accuracy, and the former Barcelona man plucked it out of the air beautifully – bringing it down in the box.
Reading were quick to close him down, but he showed quick feet to retain it. He smuggled a shot out through the crowd of bodies, and through the keepers legs to make it 1-0.
