Hearts were in mouths when Olivier Giroud went over awkwardly on his ankle, and it wasn’t clear whether he was going to be able to continue. He put all doubt out of our minds moments later though, charging forward and grabbing his and Arsenal’s second of the evening.
Mesut Özil played a sublime ball over the top towards Joel Campbell and Theo Walcott, with the Costa Rican plucking it out of the air. He turned skillfully and showed quick feet to retain the ball under pressure from several Olympiacos defenders. He squeezed the ball out and into the path of the onrushing Giroud, who lashed it past the keeper to make it 2-0.
Check out the goal below:
That goal could be enough to send us through to the last 16, although it’s still going to be a tense end to the game. The next goal could certainly decide the game, and we need to make sure it’s us that gets it. A 2-1 win wouldn’t be enough to send us through, but if we get three goals then Olympiacos will need to score three themselves.

Hopefully the French forward is able to complete his hat-trick and really put the game to bed. We really deserve to go through based on our performance tonight so far, but you don’t always get what you deserve in football. We need that vital next goal.
