Liverpool looked tentative in the opening minutes, and were shaky in possession. We looked like scoring on a number of occasions, but we couldn’t take advantage of their mistakes – largely down to the heroics of Simon Mignolet.
The visitors grew into the game after 15 minutes, and were starting to threaten. We put a stop to that when Bellerin curled the ball past the Belgian shot-stopper to make it 1-0.
Moments later it was 2-0, with Liverpool gifting us a free-kick in a dangerous area. Mesut Özil stepped up, and curled it beautifully into the far corner.
