Olivier Giroud opened the scoring for Arsenal against Lyon in our first Emirates Cup clash of the weekend, with the Frenchman knocking in a Mesut Özil free kick with his shoulder.
Giroud splits opinion among Arsenal fans, and is much maligned by a large section of supporters. He’s a quality striker though, and he certainly offers us something different going forward.
His strength and aerial dominance was evident for the goal, with Giroud overpowering the defence to knock past Anthony Lopes into the far corner.

We could definitely use reinforcements in the forwards department, with Giroud our only out and out striker. He has shown on a regular basis however, that despite all the criticism he receives he has what it takes to lead the line.
