Aaron Ramsey may have got the goal, but Mesut Özil’s name is on everyone’s lips at the moment. The German selflessly supplied the Welshman with a simple tap in to double Arsenal’s lead, applying the finish to a superb, free-flowing counter-attack.
Ramsey made the tackle on the edge of our box, and in a matter of seconds we were up the other end grabbing our second goal of the game. The ball was played out to Mesut Özil, who got his head up to analyse the situation. He spread the ball out to Theo Walcott, before racing forward to receive it straight back.
Walcott’s pass cut out a number of defenders, and Villa were left stranded – we had a three on one going forward. As Brad Guzan raced out, the genius playmaker played a simple square ball to give Ramsey a clear shot on goal. The midfielder didn’t disappoint, smashing it in to make it 2-0.
Check out the goal below:
It’s Özil’s 13th assist of the season, and he’s far and away the best No.10 in the Premier League – if not the world – at the moment. Ramsey is the latest of his teammates to benefit, and is thriving having been moved back centrally in Santi Cazorla’s absence.

Arsenal transfer news
There’s no telling how many goals we can get in the second half, but we need to make sure we remain focused and avoid complacency.
