A goalkeeping nightmare from Reading shot-stopper Adam Federici gifted us the lead, and Alexis Sanchez got his and Arsenal’s second of the evening.
We always do things the hard we, and tonight was no different. After taking the lead in our FA Cup semi-final clash against Reading, we threw it away and were forced into extra time.
The Championship side have looked arguably the better side at times, and we didn’t always look like scoring. Their goal looked charmed at times, with Federici saved twice by the woodwork.
His luck finally ran out just before the half way point of extra time however, when the Australian let an Alexis Sanchez drive creep underneath him and over the line.

The Chilean cut in from the left, and it didn’t look like there was much on. He could have tried to pick out Olivier Giroud, but instead opted to shoot from an awkward angle.
It looked to be the wrong decision, but Federici made a real mess of the save. The ball somehow managed to get underneath him, and he could only claw helplessly at it as it rolled over the line.
