After a tactical first half-hour, where both teams canceled themselves out, we took the lead on the 39th minute through Olivier Giroud.

Minutes later we almost doubled the lead with Santi Cazorla shifting the ball on his left foot and unleashing a rasping effort which was tipped over by Tim Howard.
Shortly after half-time, the crowd had their hearts in their mouths as Francis Coquelin and Olivier Giroud clashed heads with the former coming off worse and leaving the pitch with a bloody nose.
Mesut Ozil spurned the chance to kill off the game late on after being put through by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
However, the much needed second goal came shortly after when Tomas Rosicky picked up the ball at the edge of the area and fired home an effort which deflected past Tim Howard.
