Two quick goals put us firmly in the driver’s seat at Dean Court, with Mesut Özil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ending our goal drought in emphatic fashion.
We’ve struggled for goals in 2016, which has consequently seen us sink to fourth in the Premier League table. We had to wait 22 minutes for a goal against Bournemouth, but then just like buses, two came at once.
It was pretty open right from the start, with both teams really looking to play attacking football. We had a couple of half chances before the goal, but were also looking less than secure at the back. There were some worrying moments from both Nacho Monreal and Gabriel Paulista, but thankfully none of them proved costly.
Özil then opened the scoring, with a well worked move eventually finding the back of the net. Aaron Ramsey got his head up at the edge of the box, and picked out the run of Olivier Giroud superbly. The Frenchman barged Alexis Sanchez out of the way to get to the ball first, nodding it into the path of Özil superbly. The German playmaker lashed it goalwards with his weaker foot, with Artur Boruc and the Bournemouth defence totally helpless as it flew into the roof of the net.
Moments after the restart we were in again, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain the scorer this time. Ramsey intercepted a poor pass and spread the play to the winger, who drove powerfully towards goal. He fired a shot towards the far post, and it crept out of the reach of Boruc before clattering the woodwork and going in. 2-0.

The Ox has been seriously criticised for his lack of end product over the years, and he really hasn’t progressed as much as many would have hoped. This is just his first away goal since joining Arsenal, unquestionably a damning statement.

Hopefully our goal drought was nothing more than a blip in our campaign, and this quickfire salvo gets us back among the goals.
