Club legend Patrick Vieira spoke about the Premier League in an interview, and he said that despite Chelsea’s current dominance, a number of teams could still challenge for and win the title.
The Manchester City coach feels that Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City all have the quality to challenge the Blues as the season progresses, and also expects his side to challenge in all competitions.
Chelsea are the early pace setters after seven games, having gone unbeaten in all their league fixtures so far. The other top clubs meanwhile have had much slower starts. Arsenal and Liverpool, both top four finishers last season, find themselves in eighth and ninth place respectively.
I’m sure we’ll challenge in all of the competitions. If you look at the first few games, you’d say the title is between City and Chelsea.
But people with more experience will believe Arsenal can still be there, Liverpool also, despite a bad start, because of what they did last season.
I think what will make it really exciting is that I believe five or six clubs will be up there, challenging at the top.
While there is still time for the Gunners to challenge for the League title, the nine point gap between us and Chelsea is daunting and we need to get going right now. For a start, we must claim the three points in the home game against Hull City.

Chelsea meanwhile have a slightly tricky fixture away against Crystal Palace, but they should have no problems with the form they are in. The biggest game of the weekend however will probably be Manchester City hosting Tottenham Hotspur, a team they beat 11-1 on aggregate last season.
