Theo Walcott looks like he may well be on his way out of the Emirates this summer, with his recent poor performances seeing him linked with a host of clubs, including Serie A side AC Milan, as reported by Calciomercato.
The 27-year-old could apparently be part of a swap deal which would see Milan’s teenage midfielder Manuel Locatelli head in the other direction, with the Italian club keen to secure the speedster’s signature.
Arsene Wenger has always stood by Walcott, but it seems as though he may have finally lost patience. The Englishman has been really poor this season, and when asked about reports he’d be sold this season Wenger certainly didn’t do much to quash the rumours.
“I don’t know yet, I’m not in transfer mode at the moment, but I think he has gone through a bad spell,” Wenger said.
“Let’s see how well he finishes the season.”
While many Arsenal fans will be glad to see the back of Walcott at this point, they’ll want Wenger to invest the money wisely. The former Southampton man is still likely to fetch some serious money though – as an England international he comes with a premium attached – and if most of that money goes on a relatively unknown Italian 18-year-old the fans will not be best pleased.

In all honesty Walcott just doesn’t look like he wants to play for Arsenal any more, and if that’s the case we should cash in on him as quickly as possible. We badly need reinforcements in the final third this summer, and Walcott may need to make way before we bring in any more big names.

Locatelli certainly isn’t a big name though, and although he may be a talented young midfielder on the verge of breaking into the Milan team, we really need to focus on players who will have an immediate impact.
