Arsène Wenger has reinforced his commitment to Arsenal by declaring after reports emerged that he could possibly be in his final year at Arsenal.
Wenger moved to clarify recent comments reported by L’Equipe where he cast doubt over his future, however the Frenchman has reiterated his desire to remain at Arsenal, and has stated that he would only leave if he was doing his job well enough for the Gunners.
Wenger told Arsenal Player after the 2-1 win at Norwich:
I wanted just to say that this is the Club of my life. I have a contract that I will honour and the only way I would one day consider [leaving] is if I feel I have not done well enough for the Club.
You cannot say you love the Club and have a start like we had then ignore it. That is just what I wanted to say.
There is no mixed message in there. My commitment and love for this Club is total. The only way I would consider [my future] is if I was not doing well enough for the Club.
After a turbulent start to the season, Wenger and his side have made a miraculous comeback and find themselves once again in the top section of the Premier League.
He is a vital cog in the works at Arsenal and without him they would not be in the position they are now after stringing together five League wins in a row. Although many Gunner fans after his head earlier in the season, they will be relieved to see the Frenchman leading the revival.
