Theo Walcott has been in superb form for Arsenal this season and now has a total of six goals in his last five appearances for the club in all competitions.
His two early goals against Swansea gave Arsenal a comfortable stance in a tricky fixture at the Emirates, and Wenger thinks the winger deserves full praise for his meteoric rise this season.
The England international opened the score line for Arsenal with the help of sloppy defending by the Swans, and then doubled the lead with quick control on the ball before turning and firing into the net from close range.
Walcott came close to scoring a hat-trick twice, hitting the post with a low shot and then seeing another rebound off the post in the final minutes when he failed to score from a fine pass by Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Speaking after the match, Arsene Wenger spoke about Theo’s missed chances but believes he has done exceptionally well this season.
“He could have had a hat-trick, or even four, because he had another chance from Oxlade-Chamberlain,” said Wenger as reported by Arsenal’s official website.

“But he scored two goals. I think he’s got seven now, that’s quite encouraging.”
Wenger also cut the media calling Walcott ‘little resilient’ and claimed that the forward receives much less credit than is due.
“I would cut the ‘little bit’ off in your sentence and just say he’s much more resilient, and not a little bit.”
Theo has been particularly praised for his work ethic this season not to mention his efficiency in front of goal. The Gunners need more goals from the midfield and wide positions, and with Walcott firing on all cylinders it bodes well for the season ahead.
Arsenal now turn their attention to their Champions League campaign as they face Ludogorets Razgrad on Wednesday at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners have had a decent start to the European tournament with an away draw against Paris Saint-Germain and a 2-0 win against FC Basel. They now aim to earn full three points to further ensure top place in their Champions League group.
