We’ve got a host of injuries to contend with ahead of our FA Cup clash with Watford, but Arsene Wenger is confident of having Per Mertesacker, Gabriel Paulista, and Laurent Koscielny available, according to the Daily Star.
The Frenchman believes both Gabriel and Mertesacker will be fully recovered from their respective knocks, while his compatriot Koscielny will have a late assessment ahead of the game.
We’ll still be left short in other areas of the field, but at least we’ll have plenty of options in defence.
Injuries have rocked our season already, and at times we’ve looked dangerously close to falling apart. We’re still in with a chance of lifting the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League (however unlikely it may be) trophies though, and no other team in England can say that.
With most of the big hitters out of the FA Cup we now have no excuse not to win it, and we really should be lifting our third consecutive trophy at the end of the season. Rotation and remaining injury free will obviously be important heading into the final weeks and months of the campaign, but we’re unquestionably still in with a great chance.

Watford haven’t been in the same form they were showing earlier in the season, with Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney – their only source of goals – struggling of late. This is just one more boost in our favour, and hopefully on Sunday evening we’ll be in the semi-finals of the FA Cup once again.
