Arsene Wenger has issued a warning to Arsenal’s Premier League title rivals, insisting that the Gunners have room for improvement. The Boss was speaking in the aftermath of the explosive 5-1 win over West Ham United at the weekend.
Anyone who watched Arsenal’s demolition of West Ham at the weekend would have been impressed but Arsene Wenger has said that there is still a lot to come from his players. An Alexis Sanchez hat trick and a goal each from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mesut Özil eased the Gunners to three points in London.
“We can do better, there is still room for improvement,” Wenger told Arsenal.com. “Certainly our percentage of chances converted was not the best. It is not in line with what we have done since the start of the season. Mainly in the second half.
“Ideally you want to kill teams off earlier. But I must say though that since the start of the season, the quality of our finishing compared to the chances we have created is quite good, certainly much better than last year. We miss only 20 per cent of our chances this year.”
Wenger is right about the drastic increase in Arsenal’s chance conversation rate and it’s good to see the boss so confident. It was a massive win against West Ham after the midweek defeat to Southampton. The Premier League title race is now at a crucial stage as we enter December.
