Arsene Wenger has confirmed Laurent Koscielny suffered an Achilles injury during Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Manchester City at the Emirates.
The defender was forced off at half-time due to the problem as Arsenal twice recovered from going behind to grab a point against Pep Guardiola’s side.
Wenger was forced to replace Koscielny with Gabriel at the break and admitted after the game he had no idea how serious the injury was.
“I don’t know how long Koscielny will be out for,” he said via Arsenal‘s official website. “He came off at half-time with an Achilles problem. How long will that last? I don’t know.”
Arsenal were also without Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for Sunday’s game but Wenger says they could be fit in time for Wednesday’s game against West Ham, adding: “Ramsey and Oxlade-Chamberlain have a chance of being available on Wednesday.”
Oxlade-Chamberlain is reportedly struggling with a hamstring problem and Ramsey with a calf injury and Arsenal will be keen to get them back soon with Francis Coquelin and Granit Xhaka once again failing to impress against Manchester City.

Sunday’s draw keeps Arsenal in sixth place, seven points behind City, albeit with a game in hand and the Gunners can ill-afford to drop many points between now and the end of the season if they are to secure a top four finish.
The visit of West Ham provides Arsenal with a good chance to return to winning ways, however, Slaven Bilic’s side have lost their last four Premier League games in a row and have not tasted victory since early February.
