Arsene Wenger is hopeful Alexis Sanchez will be fit enough to return for Arsenal against Liverpool next weekend.
The Chilean has missed the games against Leicester City and Stoke due to an abdominal injury, and has been missed by the Gunners.
However, the 28-year-old could be back in action as the Gunners face a tricky trip to Anfield next up in the Premier League.
“If all goes well through the week he should be available to be selected for the next game,” Wenger told Sky Sports.
Wenger also admitted that he is keen to trim his squad before the close of the transfer window at the close of the month.
“I expect to sell players first. That’s all,” he added. “I expect players to go because we have too many players.

“It’s not manageable and many clubs are in this situation – that’s why the transfer market is quiet. We have 33 players at the moment and that’s too many.”
Lucas Perez appears to be close to an Arsenal exit while Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs, Calum Chambers, Carl Jenkinson and Mathieu Debuchy are all being linked with leaving the club this summer.
There is also, of course, reportedly interest in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Alexis Sanchez, although Wenger continues to insist they will stay, despite being in the final year of their contracts.
