Arsene Wenger has given us an update on the team ahead of our FA Cup replay against Hull City this Tuesday, and there’s good and bad news.
Speaking to Arsenal.com, Wenger spoke about the injuries to Laurent Koscielny and Petr Cech, as well as a potential addition to the squad for the Hull game.
“Petr’s scans were better than expected, but it will still be four weeks for him. So after the international break,” he said.
“Laurent will be short for Hull. he has a chance to be available for the weekend, but I think even for then he will be short.
“We lose [Francis] Coquelin from his bad tackle on Saturday and everyone else looks available. I have to see how everybody has recovered today but overall we should have the same squad that went to Tottenham plus Alex Iwobi will certainly be added to the squad.”
Alex Iwobi’s last cameo for Arsenal wasn’t exactly a great one, and during the few minutes he was on the pitch he repeatedly lost possession. He’s a popular figure among Arsenal fans though, and it will be good to see him get another game against the Tigers this Tuesday.

Being without Koscielny and Cech will obviously be a blow, but both of them may have been potentially rested for the game anyway. Thankfully David Ospina stepped up in a big way against Tottenham, so hopefully we won’t miss Cech too much.
We really shouldn’t even be playing this game in all honesty, and our draw in the first leg has just given us more of a headache. We’re here now though, and have to make sure we do everything in our power to get the win. The Premier League is obviously still a priority, but we’re not in the best shape where the title is concerned so we shouldn’t put all our eggs in one basket.

A third consecutive FA Cup trophy would still be a fantastic achievement, and losing against Hull would be catastrophic. Not only would it see us dumped out of the competition, it could also dent our confidence – this really is a must win.
