Arsene Wenger has issued a fresh update on the futures of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez and insists both players will continue with the club.
The pair are out of contract next summer and yet to sign contract extensions with huge speculation over both of their futures.
However, Wenger insists the club has no intention of letting them go and that they will stay for at least one more season.
“This summer first of all they will stay at the club and hopefully we can extend their contracts,” he told beIN Sports.
“You cannot weaken the club and weaken the team and you want to strengthen the team, unless you can find a player of the same calibre if they want absolutely to leave.
“I believe at the moment we are not at that front we are just focused on keeping the team together and see how to strengthen the team.”

Alexis has been linked with Manchester City and Bayern Munich but Wenger sees no reason why the Chilean will not continue at Arsenal and continue to shine after finishing last season as the club’s top goalscorer.
“When you sign a contract somewhere you commit to give your best until the end of the last day of your contract why should they not give their best,” he added.
Wenger’s words will give fans some reassurances although should a big offer come in it will be interesting to see how the club react, as such they cannot afford to let either player walk away for free next summer?
