Arsene Wenger is reportedly lining up a move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani who is now our No.1 transfer target after a deal for Karim Benzema failed to materialise, the Daily Star reports.
Cavani has been prolific for the French champions, despite predominantly playing on the left-wing in order to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Also, with the big-money arrival of Angel Di Maria, there could be a glimmer of hope for us in terms of a potential deal with only days remaining in the window.

Though, judging by Wenger’s track record, it remains doubtful whether or not he would be willing to pay the financial package it would take to bring Cavani to north London.
Despite how desperate we are, the boss rarely pays over the odds for a player and at the age of 28, could he potentially see Cavani as a deal with no long-term gain?

As fans, we couldn’t care less how much it would take to bring in Cavani given the impact his potential arrival could have on the rest of the squad.
With no outfield players signed this summer, our players look like they need a lift. We can’t seem to score goals at this moment in time and we definitely need a prolific striker.
