Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla recently penned new long term deals to keep them at the club, and Arsene Wenger has praised the duo along with the cohesion at the Emirates, as reported by Arsenal.com.
Gone are the days where we are forced to sell our top talent, and instead we are seeing more and more players extend their contracts – building for the future at Arsenal.
“I’m very happy because first of all, they are two exceptional players, and as well because I think the cohesion inside the club is an underestimated quality,” Wenger said.
“To have a good cohesion level, it’s important that your players stay together for a long period. That will contribute.
“You see how people chant Santi’s name. Santi is technically perfect, he’s a very intelligent player and a very good team player as well.
“Theo is a good goalscorer and he makes very intelligent runs. I think he’s at a moment of his career where he knows that it’s now time for him to completely fulfil his potential.”

Cazorla has been one of our most consistent performers since joining the club, and has thrived in a new deeper role in midfield. He has been instrumental in the success we’ve had in recent seasons, and it’s fantastic to see him commit to the club.
We haven’t been able to rely on Walcott as much, with the pacy forward suffering from a number of injuries over the past few years. When he has been fit and firing however, he has shown massive improvement, and has become a real goal threat – wherever he’s deployed.
We are closer than ever to building a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League, and keeping our stars is an important step on that road.
