Arsene Wenger has provided an update on the future of Jack Wilshere which may trouble some Arsenal fans (via Arsenal.com).
Arsenal fans may have thought that once Alexis Sanchez left the club and Mesut Ozil renewed his deal that the club’s trouble with contracts was over.
That is certainly not the case as the Gunners are now just a couple of months away from losing Jack Wilshere on a free transfer.
The Englishman’s current deal expires at the end of the season and despite several years of injury problems, has broken into the Arsenal first-team and is performing relatively well.
The club offered Wilshere a new deal earlier in the season that is apparently still on the table unsigned by the player. Now, Arsene Wenger has provided an update on the situation.
“On my side, nothing has changed,” Wenger said in his pre-match press conference.

“I don’t know [if he will be here next season]. Jack will be free at the end of the season.
“We made a proposal to him, I want him to stay and be linked with the club for the future. That’s my desire and I hope he will do.”
It’s clear that Arsene Wenger wants Wilshere to stay but it’s still unclear whether he will. Either the midfielder is vying for a move or the offer on the contract offer on the table just isn’t good enough for him. Wilshere will presumably feature for Arsenal in tomorrow’s match against AC Milan.
