Arsene Wenger used his pre-match press conference to dismiss rumours linking him with the management position at FC Barcelona. Current Barca boss Luis Enrique announced this week that he will be leaving at the end of the season but Wenger refused to say whether he was interested.
With the futures of Arsene Wenger, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil still up in the air, it promises to be a massive summer for Arsenal.
Similarly, FC Barcelona are in for a summer of change after Luis Enrique announced that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season.
Two and two has been put together and Arsene Wenger has been linked with a possible move to the Spanish giants in the summer. Now, the Frenchman has responded to those rumours.
“No, my preference has always been the same,” Wenger revealed.
“I am not looking for jobs in other clubs or other people. I’m just focussing on me getting to the next level and improving. Competent managers always try to improve and reinvent themselves.

“I’ve been here for 20 years and had the opportunity to leave.
“My preference has always been Arsenal but I’m objective enough to make the right decision for myself and the club as well.
“The club is free to make whatever decision it wants and I respect that.”
These are some very interesting quotes from Wenger. It seems like the Frenchman has left it up to the club to decide his future which goes against some previous reports. However, the “I’m objective enough to make the right decision for myself and the club” line seems to indicate that this season will be his last and the position at FC Barcelona would be a huge move for Wenger.
