Arsene Wenger’s future at the club continues to be the big story at Arsenal with huge doubts over what the club will look like next season.
There have been growing reports of some restructuring at the club in case Wenger does decide to stay. Former player Marc Overmars and current Hoffenheim director Alexander Rosen are two of the names most heavily linked with the post.
However, Wenger has today responded to the rumours and categorically denied the suggestion.
“No. I’m not prepared to talk about that,” he said in his pre-match press conference.
“Director of football, I don’t know what it means. Is it someone who stands and directs play right and left?

So that’s a categoric no to the suggestion of installing a director of football. It seems that if Wenger were to remain at Arsenal he would only do so under his conditions. There were growing rumours of a restructuring at the club but as long as Arsene Wenger is the manager, it doesn’t look like that will ever happen.
