Arsene Wenger had some bad news ahead of our Premier League clash with Aston Villa, revealing on Arsenal.com that Alexis Sanchez is a doubt for the game after suffering a hamstring injury.
Things have been looking up on the injury front recently, with a number of players returning to action sooner than expected. We are Arsenal however, so that was never likely to last.
Sanchez has been a revelation since joining us from Barcelona this past summer, and the seemingly tireless Chilean has been showered with well deserved praise for his incredible work-rate.
Despite the 26-year-old giving the impression that his energy supply is endless, things finally seem to have caught up with him.

He may get an enforced rest against Villa this weekend, with Wenger not sounding positive in his comments.
“The only uncertainty we have is Alexis Sanchez who has a hamstring concern, and that will be decided on Saturday. He might be out for Sunday,” he said.
Sanchez will obviously be a huge loss, and we certainly need him back as soon as possible. We have shown in recent weeks that we are not overly reliant on his goals however, with players like Tomas Rosicky and Santi Cazorla stepping up when it was required.
