Arsene Wenger believes playing our own brand of attack-minded football is the key to beating Leicester City this weekend, and claims playing to our strengths is the most important thing, as reported by the Mirror.
We looked to attack right from the off in the reverse fixture, and although it was a very open game our quality prevailed. An Alexis Sanchez hat-trick helped us get the win last time, but we were regularly exposed by the pace of the Leicester attack.
It seems as though we could have a game full of goals once again though, with Wenger determined not to stray from his game.
“We will of course try to stop their counter-attacking. But at home you have to express your strengths and our strength is to have the ball. We have to try to express our strengths and as well try to stop them from hitting us on the break,” he said.
“Leicester are certainly more convinced of their quality from when we played them last. Their belief has been strengthened.”
That was arguably the same trap Manchester City fell into, looking to outplay Leicester rather than get the better of them tactically. If City were at their best they may well have had enough about them to beat the Foxes, but underperforming they were no match for Claudio Ranieri’s side.

If Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud, and Mesut Özil are on top form this weekend then we should have no problem putting plenty of goals past the relatively leaky Leicester defence. If not though, we have to be defensively sound and ensure we don’t give away any cheap goals.

Wenger has always been known for his rigidity and refusal to adjust his tactics, and hopefully that mentality doesn’t cost us not only this weekend, but in the title race in general.
