Last time we heard a player running ‘in the red’ was the now injured Jack Wilshere who suffered from a stress fracture to his ankle after playing over 50 games in debut Premier League season for the Gunners.
Wenger discussed the latest condition of his players:
We have a few players on the edge like Van Persie and Walcott, who had a hamstring alert, and Ramsey. We’ll have to see how they respond to 24 hours rest.
It will be easier for you to pick the Man City team because you can look in the stand and on the bench [against Liverpool] and you will see who plays on Tuesday. We have red alerts on a few players but I will pick as strong a team as I can.
With such a massive match for the Gunners coming up it will be a difficult decision for Wenger as Manchester ‘Money-bags’ City will field a second string side that is full of quality players such as former gunner Samir Nasri who perhaps hasn’t had as much game time as he would have liked.
