Arsene Wenger has revealed which youth players he expects will shine under the new Arsenal manager (via Arsenal.com).
It’s going to be fascinating to see how these Arsenal players react to a new manager after working under Arsene Wenger for so long.
We have no idea who the new boss will be but whoever it is will presumably make changes to the current squad.
That could be signing new players or bringing some up from the youth team as has been the case this season.
The likes of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah have all been in the first-team picture this season and now, Arsene Wenger has revealed what he thinks these players need to do in order to impress the new boss.
“Will they get a chance or not or will they go somewhere on loan? The next manager will have to decide that after pre-season. [Eddie] Nketiah has that quality to score goals and overall I think he might get a chance very early. The two others have the quality as well.

“We all are great admirers of Ainsley [Maitland-Niles’] talent and of his quality. What you want from him is for him to push himself. When he digs a little bit more than he naturally would like to, you will see a fantastic football player and I hope that next season will confirm that.
“I am convinced there is something special in this team that will come out next season. There are one or two things to change but this team has special quality – mentally and on the football front. I will really support them next season because I think they can surprise everybody.”
It’s true that this squad does have some incredibly talented players. We can only wait and see what will happen when a new manager comes in and starts switching things up but it will be a good opportunity for these young players to really kick on into the first-team.
