Arsene Wenger has admitted Arsenal could continue with a 3-4-3 formation for their FA Cup semi-final clash against Manchester City on Sunday.
The Gunners lined up with a back three against Middlesbrough on Monday, winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
Arsenal now face a far tougher proposition at Wembley but Wenger has not ruled out using the same formation as at the Riverside.
“It’s an option, yes. But what will I do? You will understand I won’t tell you now,” he told a pre-match press conference.
“The game will be spectacular. We hope we score the first goal.”
Wenger also revealed what had caused him to switch from a back four and says his players should be able to move between formations comfortably.

“[The system] was testing to give us more defensive stability because lately we concede too many goals,” he explained.
“The definition of a good football player is that he is adaptable to the situation. That’s what makes football rich.
“If you’re not adaptable, you’re not a top level player.”
While Arsenal did pick up all three points against Middlesbrough it was hardly their most convincing display of the season and several players looked uncomfortable in the new system.
Wenger also confirmed that Shkodran Mustafi will miss the City clash, meaning he has some big decisions to make ahead of a huge game at Wembley.
