Manager Arsene Wenger says Arsenal will play to win when they face Galatasaray tonight. The Gunners have already qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League but can finish top of the group if they beat the Turkish giants and Borussia Dortmund lose against Anderlecht.
Wenger has made a host of changes to the side, resting several key players and giving the youngsters a chance. While this can be interpreted to mean that he has given up on the fixture, the manager says that this is not the case.
Arsenal have been drawn against tough opposition in the last 16 in the last three years, and Wenger is determined to do what he can to top Group D.
We’ll go with a strong team of course, we want to win the game.
Since the start of this season we have played seven games in the Champions League, including the qualifiers, and we have won four. I would like to win five.
Galatasaray is a massive club in Turkey. They certainly have the biggest support in Turkey. They had a difficult start to the season and in this group they cannot even get Europa League.
It’s a massive surprise because I thought they would be one of the contenders to go through. Let’s not forget that last year they knocked Juventus out when they qualified from the group stage, so it is a surprise.

Turkish people are very proud and they will try to finish well this campaign with a convincing performance.
The Turkish team have traditionally been extremely strong at home, and if we beat them today, it should certainly provide the players with a psychological boost.
