We have been heavily linked with a move for Edinson Cavani this summer, and may have just received a huge boost in our hunt for a new striker, as reported by the Metro.
Arsene Wenger has apparently been spotted on a plane to Paris (via the Metro), and Twitter has exploded as a result – with Arsenal fans hoping the manager is on his way to negotiate a deal to bring the Uruguayan back to north London with him.

It would certainly be fantastic if Wenger were in his home nation to complete the signing of Cavani, and fans agree.
Man like Wenger in Paris to pocket himself a Cavani — ➖ (@_jacklepop) August 31, 2015
Arsene Wenger on a plane to Paris. If he isn’t there to pay £50m for Cavani, I will cry.

Despite the wishes of Arsenal fans however, his flight to France could mean a number of things non transfer related. On deadline day last year Wenger was in Rome for a charity match (via the Daily Mail), so he clearly doesn’t feel the need to be where the action is when the window slams shut.
It also probably hasn’t escaped the attention of most fans that Wenger is French, so he could be there for any number of reasons – from family ties to business dealings.

We are badly in need of attacking reinforcements, and Cavani certainly fits the bill. So hopefully the links prove to be true, and Wenger really is in Paris to finalise a deal.
