Arsene Wenger confirmed to reporters in Singapore that he is looking to sign “one, or two players” should he find the needed quality.
“That doesn’t depend only on us, it depends on whether we can find them, but if we can find one or two players we will do it,” Wenger told reporters (via Arsenal.com).
The news is a welcome relief to fans who may have feared that our transfer dealings may have ended following the arrival of Petr Cech.
Here are five players the boss should be targetting ahead of the new season.
5) Karim Benzema

The French forward is reportedly Wenger’s number one transfer target in the forward position (via the Mirror), but a deal to prise him away would depend on many differing variables.
Real Madrid would have to sign a top class forward themselves before they let a player of Benzema’s calibre go; however, the Madrid giants have done more peculiar things in the past.
Wenger must be waiting to pounce if an opportunity to sign Benzema arrives.
