Arsene Wenger has vetoed a return to Arsenal for Thierry Henry who had been primed to join the coaching staff, according to The Mirror.
The report claims Josh Kroenke had wanted the Frenchman to help out for the rest of the season believing he could give morale a much-needed boost.
Arsenal are on an awful run of form, losing 3-0 to Crystal Palace last time out, which has seen their hopes of a top four finish take a huge hit.
However, Wenger has ruled out a move for Henry and is not happy about the idea of the former striker coming back to the club.
Henry has reportedly already held talks about a potential return and is understood to be happy to help out his former team despite his television and Belgium national team commitments.
Wenger, meanwhile, is determined to do things his way and the report even claims that he feels his position is threatened by Henry, with the Frenchman under huge pressure at present.

The Arsenal boss has spurned the services of Henry previously, after he reportedly offered to coach the Under-18 side for free, before Wenger intervened insisting the role was full-time and could not be combined with television work.
Arsenal are now entering a crucial run of games with Middlesbrough up next on Monday before an FA Cup semi-final with Manchester City and then Premier League games against champions Leicester, Tottenham and then Manchester United.
