Arsene Wenger has insisted that he will “try everything” to bring in new players before the transfer window closes.
The Arsenal manager has brought in five new players this summer – Gervinho, Carl Jenkinson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ryo and Joel Campbell – but he plans to add further reinforcements following the departures of first team members Fabregas, Nasri, Eboue, Clichy and the inevitable departure of Bendtner.
“I will try to strengthen the squad in depth because at the moment we are a bit short number-wise but if we get two or three players in we have the quality to challenge,” said Wenger.
“I am anxious yes because I want to do it and I try everything to do it. But I am confident as well because we have some good young players who can make a big step very quickly.”
But the manager warned that signings were not guaranteed. “There is a chance [we could make no signings] because again we are dependent on the desire of the people who have the players to sell the players,” he said.
Arsène Wenger also expects Nicklas Bendtner leave Emirates Stadium this summer, who is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, but Wenger says the Club will be on the hunt for another striker to cover his departure.

The manager is also worried they he will be left short of attacking options with Marouane Chamakh likely to be involved at the Africa Cup of Nations in January.
“We are looking for one more striker because we know he [Bendtner] will leave,” Wenger said.
“We will be short this season because we also have Chamakh leaving for the African Cup of Nations.”
On Bendtner’s ankle injury, Wenger insisted that it is not serious enough to hamper his hopes of a transfer.
“He has an ankle problem. It is not a bad injury and not threatening, so he won’t be out for two months. But I cannot give you a day that he will be back.”
So we basically need one player each for defense, midfield and striker positions, and Wenger must take into account that Song and Gervinho will be out during January due to the African Nations Cup too. So Wengers desire to add to the squad can not be more intense than now. He has 5 more days left, common Wenger!
