Arsene Wenger feels that the race for the Premier League title is set up for a fascinating finale following the Gunners win over Tottenham.
Tomas Rosicky’s stunning goal after just 72 seconds handed the Gunners a 1-0 victory at White Hart Lane, which kept them level on points with second-placed Liverpool and four behind leaders Chelsea.
The French manager believes that the race for the top-flight crown is set to go right down to the wire ahead of his side’s trip to Chelsea next weekend.
Speaking to Arsenal’s official website, he said:
It’s a very good day for us because we were under pressure to win this game and we won it. The pressure of Tottenham was great but we absorbed it well with a great focus, great performance from our defenders and on the break we always looked dangerous.
But we couldn’t finish the game off. So we needed zero mistakes at the back and did that in a very convincing way.
We wanted to get back in the race and the defeat of Chelsea, the win of Liverpool and of Man City away makes the final sprint very interesting.

It put us back in a good position. It’s not in our hands because even if we win our game in hand we are still a point behind but if we continue to win our games that will of course be very important. Then it is in our hands. Then’s it’s just focus, recover, focus and try to win the next game.
It has been a tough second half of the season for the Gunners, as it wasn’t that long ago when Arsenal were clear at the top of the Premier League. But after a dreadful fixture list during February and March, the North Londoners are still well in touch with just a handful of games to go in the campaign.
The result at White Hart Lane should be backed up by a big performance against Chelsea next week. The Gunners will go to Stamford Bridge for arguably their biggest game of the season. A win or even a draw will be seen as positive result and will keep them at worst four points behind the Blues with a game in hand.
The toughest game in the final five fixtures for Arsenal is at home to Newcastle, a game we should be winning. Manchester City and Chelsea have tougher games to contend with, so if Arsenal can pick up something against the title contenders over the next month, confidence will grow. With the FA Cup semi-final also on the horizon there is no doubt this could well be the season where we end the trophy drought.
