Arsene Wenger has said that he expects Arsenal to do very little business during the remainder of the January transfer window. The Gunners have only signed youngster Cohen Bramall this window but the boss admits that defender Carl Jenkinson could leave the club (via Arsenal.com).
We’ve seen Arsenal make some important first-team signings in recent January windows. Gabriel Paulista, Mohamed Elneny and Nacho Monreal have all arrived in recent years but it seems that Arsene Wenger will not be making a similar move this year.
“I expect it [January] to be a very quiet period,” Wenger said at his pre-match press conference. “We have Welbeck coming back and offensively, we’re very strong. We have many, many players who can come in.”
Wenger was speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s clash with Burnley and also provided reporters with an update on the future of Carl Jenkinson. The right-back has been linked with a move to Crystal Palace and the boss spoke about how the transfer is progressing.

“Jenkinson is a possibility to go to Palace but it’s not finalised. It’s basically down to him to find an agreement.”

So, the ball is in Jenkinson’s court regarding his potential transfer away from Arsenal. He’s a Gunners fan through and through and while it’s good to have players like that in a squad, things haven’t really clicked for the right-back at the Emirates. It seems that his move away would be the only piece of business Arsenal do during the remainder of this window.
