Arsenal take on Crystal Palace at the Emirates this afternoon in the first match of the New Year. The Gunners will be hoping the game against Sam Allardyce’s men is the start of a stellar 12 months for the club.
Match: Arsenal v Crystal Palace
Stadium: Emirates Stadium
Kick-Off (GMT): Sun 01 Jan 16:00
Here’s how we think Arsenal will line up:
- Arsenal vs Crystal Palace predicted line up: Patrick Vieira returns
- Arsenal ready a £25million bid for a ‘rising star’ of Dutch football
- Arsene Wener to return to dugout since leaving Arsenal in 2018
GK) Petr Cech
The Czech stopper will undoubtedly start between the sticks for the Gunners. Cech helped Arsenal to their first clean sheet in two months last weekend and will be hoping for another this afternoon.
RB) Hector Bellerin
The Spaniard should start at right-back for the Gunners. Hector Bellerin is still returning to full fitness after his recent injury problems and will want another 90 minutes today.
CB) Laurent Koscielny
The Frenchman will undoubtedly start and captain the Arsenal this evening. Laurent Koscielny is indispensable to this back four.
CB) Gabriel Paulista
Gabriel Paulista should continue to fill in for Shkodran Mustafi in the centre of defence. The Brazilian has done a good job in Mustafi’s absence but will probably still be dropped to the bench when the German is fully fit.
LB) Nacho Monreal
With the injury to Kieran Gibbs, Nacho Monreal should start at left-back from the off.
