Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed his interest in Real Sociedad striker Antoine Griezmann, after few reports stated that they are favourites to land him.
The 22 year old has been tearing up La Liga with some superb performances this season and was linked with the Gunners during the winter transfer window.
When quizzed about the attacker by French TV station Telefoot, Wenger admitted that the north London club are keeping tabs on the France Under-21 international ahead of the summer. He said:
Yes, we follow him in great detail.
That should not come as a surprise because he attracts other clubs as well.
But we follow him, he is a known commodity.
The Daily Star reported yesterday that Arsenal were at the front of a five-club queue to sign the Frenchman in the summer. Chelsea, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United have all expressed an interest but Wenger is thought to be ahead of the queue due to the lure of playing under the French manager and his ability to develop young talent.
In 22 La Liga appearances this season, he has scored 15 goals, standing only behind Diego Costa and Cristiano Ronaldo in the race for the Golden Boot.

Griezmann is a goal scorer, but he isn’t the typical striker, as he often plays on the left wing or slightly further up, where he likes to take on defenders and is as dangerous from a standing position as he is running onto the ball. He likes to cut inside and use his pace to expose slower central players and drag the full-back out of position.
He has blistering pace, dribbling quality and willingness to consistently support attacks similar to that of Theo Walcott, AlexOxlade-Chamberlain and Serge Gnabry. He does work hard defensively, racking up 2 tackles each game this season
He is an exceptional talent, one we can expect to continue his rise to prominence over the next few years. We’ll face some stiff competition if we do end up making our interest official though.
