The Gunners have won just one game in their last six top-flight outings, with Sunday’s 3-0 defeat at Everton dealing a severe blow to their hopes of a top-four finish.
Arsenal will take on Wigan at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday and Wenger is confident that his side have what it takes to make it through to the final.
Speaking to Arsenal’s official website, he said:
Once you are in the semi-final you want to go through to the final. To play in a different competition will help us find confidence back and focus on our next game.
We have to acknowledge that we must go back to basics and come in much stronger in the challenges, much stronger in the way we win the ball back, before we start winning games.
At the moment I feel it is important to focus on the quality of our game before we dream of where we finish [in the league]. We have to come back to much better quality than we produced at Everton.
Arsenal succumbed to their third defeat in six games after their 3-0 loss to Everton. The win puts the Toffees within a point of the Gunners in the Premier League table, with a game in-hand, a situation that could not have been foreseen a few months ago.

The Gunners are in danger of missing out, but could end their nine year trophy drought if they can go all the way in the FA Cup this season, but it certainly won’t be easy. The last time the Gunners were at Wembley they lost at the hands of Birmingham City in the Capital One Cup final in 2011…We all remember what happened that day.
If they defeat Wigan next up will be either Hull City or Sheffield United in the final. However Wigan shouldn’t be underestimated as they are known for their giant killing acts in the Cup.
Their recent form is a real worry, but if they can play on a level anywhere near their usual e.g. Like against City then they shouldn’t have too many problems.
