Arturo Vidal could be on his way to the Emirates, after recently agreeing a four year deal to join us this summer, say reports from Italian publication Calcio Mercato Web. Arsene Wenger is known to be a fan of the Chilean midfielder, and his previous comments suggest these links could prove to be far more than just rumours.

Arsenal chase signing of £7m-rated Lille star to solve problem position
The report from Italy has linked Vidal with a move away from Juventus this summer, with North London seeming a likely destination. They claim his agent Fernando Felicevich was in the capital recently to finalise the deal, and after meeting with our representatives agreed a four year deal.
We have been linked with the Serie A star before – although never anywhere near this strongly – with Wenger sharing his thoughts on the midfielder during the 2014 summer transfer window (via The Independent). The manager is clearly an admirer of Vidal’s, and he almost ran out of superlatives for the tough tackling South American when discussing him previously.
“He has everything. Incredible stamina, perfect timing. He’s a marathon athlete who plays football,” Wenger is quoted as saying by The Independent.
The 27-year-old hasn’t been at his best this season, but he would still be a top quality signing. He is a real engine in the heart of the midfield, but like our own Aaron Ramsey he regularly gets forward and finds the back of the net as well.

The fact that his international teammate Alexis Sanchez has already proved such a success at the club would no doubt be a massive draw for Vidal, and may potentially help us land our reported target.
