West Ham are reportedly prepared to offer Arsenal £20 million for striker Olivier Giroud, with the club planning a £130,000-per-week contract for the Frenchman.
The Mirror report the Hammers are desperate to land Giroud, despite interest from Lyon, in what would be a club-record deal.
Giroud’s place in the squad looks uncertain with Arsenal currently being heavily linked with moves for Alexandre Lacazette and Kylian Mbappe.
While it seems highly unlikely the club will buy both players, the arrival of another forward could surely spell the end for Giroud at Arsenal.
The 30-year-old only signed a new deal back in January but spent most of last season on the bench, due to the form of Alexis Sanchez in a central role.
Lyon have already confirmed their interest in Giroud, but have hinted that he is extremely reluctant to leave Arsenal, despite the reduced game time.

The uncertainty surrounding Alexis Sanchez’s future is also not helpful currently, although the latest speculation has claimed Arsenal could swap him for Sergio Aguero.
While Giroud did score some crucial goals last season, getting £20m for a player who will turn 31 in September is not a bad bit of business.
Yet the club will surely only sanction his departure if they are able to land a top name striker, such as Lacazette or Mbappe, this summer.
