Chelsea’s experienced shot-stopper Petr Cech could be available this summer, but should we look to bring him to the Emirates? And could we prise him away from Jose Mourinho, even if we wanted to?

Arsenal’s top 10 strikers under Arsene Wenger – where does Olivier Giroud rank?!
The Czech international has been playing second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois this season, with the young star looking like both the current and long-term replacement for the 32-year-old.
Cech has remained professional, and has kept quiet despite making just 14 appearances for the club so far this season.
Considering he was such a huge part of Chelsea’s success for years, he has been treated rather harshly by the Blues.

He will almost certainly be looking for a move away this summer, and he revealed that he will not put up with another season like this one at the club (as reported by London24).
“I don’t know what the club’s idea will be. It looks like it works well with me and Thibaut as a duo,” he told Czech newspaper Idnes.
“But that can work for one season only. I don’t want another one like this.
“There always will be speculation, I leave it for the summer.
“It will be important to sit down with the club, with the manager, to consider all the pros and cons. We will see what will work out the best.”
“Whan a specific offer comes I will consider it. There are offers one cannot turn down.”
He is likely to have a host of clubs chasing his signature this summer and, despite Mourinho’s protests, the Portuguese boss is unlikely to be able to hold onto him.
Wojciech Szczesny is clearly out of favour at the moment, and his numerous mistakes and off-the-field shenanigans have seen him replaced by summer signing David Ospina.
The Colombian has been decent this season, but he hasn’t exactly set the league alight. His stats make for impressive reading, but that may be largely down to our improved defensive stability in general.
Cech would almost certainly be an improvement on both players, even if he doesn’t have the potential longevity of either.
If we can get him cheaply it would certainly be an astute signing, but no matter how much money we throw at Chelsea, it might not be enough.
Mourinho is well known for his reluctance to sell to rivals, and he even cancelled a deal that would have seen Demba Ba join us after seeing Arsene Wenger sign Mesut Özil from Real Madrid.
The former Porto boss would no doubt prefer to sell Cech abroad, even if it means losing a few million in the process. We would no doubt have to throw a huge amount at Chelsea in order to convince them to sell, and I can’t see Wenger paying over the odds if he doesn’t see it as value for money.
What do you think Gooners?
Do we need him? And could we get him?
