Arsenal tied down Chuba Akpom to a long-term contract which was massive news for all Gooners.
Anyone who has been keeping up with the development squads at the club will know Akpom’s quality and one can’t help but feel excited at what he could become.
It’s been a long time since one of our own came through the ranks as a striker, and we can see the benefits this can have with those that shall not be named down the road.
At 19, the stage is set for lethal forward to make his mark at the club and he possesses all the qualities a forward needs to make it at the top level.
“I feel in the next sixth months, to practice every day with the first team will give him confidence”, Arsene Wenger told Arsenal Player.

“He has the qualities to become a great striker.”
That is high praise from a man who has seen some decent strikers in the past.
Caution must be applied however, we have seen many striker rise from the youth teams and hover in the fringes of the first team only to disappear.
Sanchez Watt, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Jay Simpson to name a few.
Having said that, Akpom looks like he has a determined attitude to succeed at the club His cameo appearances of late have been encouraging but what is hindering his progress is the options we have up front.
When Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez are fit, its hard to see him getting into the match-day squad let alone the first XI.
All three a suited to a central role and it will take a brave decision to place Akpom at the front of the queue against Middlesbrough, if as expected, all options are available to Wenger.
But the boss has made very brave decisions in the past to help young players blossom, it’s time for another one Le Professor.
