Rafael Benitez is set to become the next Real Madrid manager, with the Spaniard ready to part ways with Napoli and make the switch back to his home country, according to the BBC.
Arsenal transfer news
The former Liverpool boss’ move to Madrid could be good news for us though, as his departure may potentially see an exodus from Napoli this summer, according to the Express.
As The Guardian reports, we have been heavily linked with a move for Gonzalo Higuain in the past. The Argentine is believed to be one of several who could look for a Serie A exit this summer (via the Express), especially with Napoli missing out on Champions League football.
Olivier Giroud has been excellent this season, and Theo Walcott’s qualities have been on display in recent weeks as well. We could still arguably do with attacking reinforcements however, and Arsene Wenger is known to be a fan of Higuain’s – with the Frenchman coming close to signing him in 2013 (via The Guardian).
A move to Arsenal would no doubt prove enticing for Higuain, although the Express claims we are facing competition for his signature from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.
