Jack Wilshere has said he is determined to stay at Arsenal after starring during the club’s 4-2 win over BATE Borisov on Thursday night (via The Guardian).
It’s fair to say that Jack Wilshere’s performance got a few Arsenal fans excited on Thursday night. Wilshere played 90 minutes during the 4-2 win and was a huge threat moving forward, especially in the first-half.
The midfielder has been plagued by injury problems and with just a year left on his contract, there is speculation about whether or not he will stay at Arsenal. Wilshere, however, has insisted that he will.
“Do I see myself staying? Of course I do,” Wilshere said after the match. “I have always been at Arsenal, I love this club.
“They have been good to me over the years, I have a great relationship with the boss. He has played me since I was 17. He has put his trust in me since then. We have a great understanding and of course, I want to stay.

“You are always playing for your future but at the moment I am happy to be back, to feel part of the squad. It has been a while.“
“Last year I was at Bournemouth, the year before I was injured. It has been a while since I felt a proper Arsenal player but I am back, in training, back in the squad, playing these types of games.
“I am doing everything I can to stay fit, training well, we will see. I am not looking too far ahead. We have another game Sunday, more League Cup and Europa League so I am happy.”
It was great to see Wilshere back and in good form on Thursday night. The midfielder dominated the game at times and if he keeps putting in performances like that in the Europa League then it won’t be long before we see him back in action domestically. Hopefully, Wilshere keeps this up, stays fit and gets rewarded with a new long-term contract.
