Jack Wilshere has labelled Luis Suarez a “great player” and insists he would love to see the controversial Liverpool striker at Arsenal.
The Premier League heavyweights are set to face off on Saturday afternoon and Wenger will be looking to get his side back to winning ways at home after Capital One Cup and Champions League losses at Emirates Stadium.
It will be a tough task as Wilshere and co have to face the in-form Suarez, who will be looking to build upon his hat trick last weekend.
The Uruguay international has hogged the headlines of late after a summer full of rumours and bids, with the Gunners attempting to lure the striker to north London.
Wilshere will certainly be stirring the Kop with his latest comments, suggesting Suarez should be playing Champions League football, and he would welcome him to the Emirates with open arms.

Wilshere told the Daily Mail:
He’s a great player. If I sit here and say we don’t want him I’d be lying.
A club like Liverpool should be playing in the Champions League. Suarez should be too.
[On the Suarez and Daniel Sturridge partnership] They’ve been great this season. Suarez especially has been really good.
He and Sturridge link up really well. But our defence has been good recently.
The Gunners have started the season in spectacular fashion, however the depth of the squad is a concern. Wilshere understands the skepticism but feels man for man Arsenal have the best squad in the league.
He continued:
No-one’s ever questioned the starting 11. If you look through the league we have the best starting 11 player for player.
People question the squad. In midfield and at the back we have to switch on. But this is the best team and the best start I’ve ever had.
The England international has had the pleasure of playing alongside some top class footballers despite his young age from RvP and Cesc Fabregas to Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney, however he feels summer signing Mesut Ozil is the most talented player he’s played alongside. He added:
He’s the most talented player I’ve ever played with. He’s the most natural player and when you have that sometimes it does make all the difference.
Wilshere and Arsenal have their work cutout this weekend against Liverpool, and he will be hoping that team mate Ozil is on his game and helps to break down the in-form Reds.
The main worry for the Gunners is the absence of Flamini who has proved to be indispensable this season. Arsenal will miss the disciplined, all action combative midfielder who is an excellent commander not to mention the lack of natural wingers available.
But on paper Wenger has an exceptional side and it’s time to prove it. COYG!!
